Before becoming the head coach of the Syracuse women’s soccer program in 2008, Phil Wheddon helped win two gold medals for the USA. Knowing what it takes to win, Wheddon understood the importance of acquiring a comprehensive recruiting and compliance solution that would not only be easy to use but also extend to all facets of the women’s soccer program. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful in their first purchase of a recruiting and compliance solution.

“Prior to ARMS, we only had access to a very outdated and limited system. We needed something that was more functional and efficient,” said Wheddon. “ARMS enables us to work with multiple disciplines, such as camps, recruiting, and alumni engagement, and its ease and efficiency sets it apart from any other software that is out there.”

Click here to read about why 60% of our customers switch to us from a competitor’s software.

Recruiting on the road used to be a painful and time-consuming process for many coaches, as they grew frustrated in their inability to stay on top of their recruiting activities while away from their offices. Built into the smartphone functionality is the ARMS Active Compliance feature – a feature on the smartphone that warns coaches in the event that they may be inadvertently committing a secondary violation by calling or emailing a particular recruit. For Wheddon, the ARMS Mobile experience has greatly increased his ability to stay on top of all information by being able to access their database from their smartphones.

“The nature of the job of the coach is to be on the road constantly, and the ARMS Mobile keeps us very efficient, “ said Wheddon. “To be able to pull the whole database from our smartphones and see who called who and when, and to have all of that at your fingertips, out of the office, is an invaluable tool for us.”

Click here to read about how our coaches are each using the ARMS system in their own ways to improve their programs.

Having successfully made the switch from a competitor to ARMS, assistant coach Abby Crumpton was impressed by how simple the process was to make the transition. She encourages coaches to not be afraid but ecstatic about the transition to ARMS.

“So much work to get used to it, already have something else that works OK – no, those are all just excuses. Coaches don’t understand just how much time it will save them to spend on the more enjoyable aspects of coaching.”

–

ARMS recruiting software delivers better results for recruiting, camp attendance, and fundraising while helping you spend less time in the office and more time with your athletes.

The Syracuse University men’s soccer coaches began using the ARMS recruiting software when they took over guidance of the program last year. With no time to waste, Head Coach Ian McIntyre and his staff needed an all-in-one IT solution for their camps, alumni, and most importantly, recruiting.

“We use it like a personal secretary, said Assistant Coach Mike Miller. ARMS has completely enhanced every aspect of our program.”

Coach Miller quickly grasped the time-saving advantages of having one software that works seamlessly with camps, recruiting, and out-reach.

“ARMS helped us start our camps from scratch. We were quickly able to get the camps up and running; we began contacting all our new recruits, getting their information into the system, and determining, based on their response and attendance, what camps they attended.”

Click here to view a camp registration page created by Coach Miller using ARMS.

When it comes time to scout those recruits at tournaments, Assistant Coaches Jukka Masalin and Miller use the ARMS tournament routine to significantly reduce the mindless data-entry that accompanies the old-school systems.

“The ARMS import and export routine makes it easy for me to make notes on all our recruits, said Coach Miller. I simply type the notes on each kid on an Excel spreadsheet and upload it into the system.”

Click here to read about how you can use the time-saving features of ARMS.

Finally, ARMS has helped the coaches reach out to alumni and make them feel more involved with the program. Coach Miller customized his alumni questionnaire to effortlessly gather up-to-date information on the program’s alumni, then Coach McIntyre sends out a weekly email that provides news and information and recaps every match.

–

Transforming the Drexel field hockey program into a national power took a lot of time and effort for Head Coach Denise Zelenak and Associate Head Coach Nicky Hitchens. So they needed a software that could enable them to be more productive in less time.

Coach Hitchens quickly grasped the power of ARMS (Athlete Relationship Management Software) and immediately began utilizing the email integration, camp management, and alumni fundraising components of ARMS to really flex her “ARMS” muscles and automate those tasks.

“I was using one system for camps, another for my email blasts, and another for invitations to social events. And ARMS puts it all under one roof for me.”

Automatically generating responses to unsolicited player emails and getting them to fill out the online questionnaire has been a big time saver for Coach Hitchens.

“It’s incredible how much easier the first contact is for us. It’s very simple for me to use the ARMS Dropbox to put each recruit where she needs to be in order for us to give her the appropriate first response. And then I can contact all those kids at once with a few simple clicks. It’s really automated that process for us, but still gives us that personal touch.”

Click here to read about how you can use the time-saving features of ARMS.

In addition, Coach Hitchens has simplified the process of reaching out to alumni to get them more in tune and involved with the program.

“It’s so simple for me to just make an update of a questionnaire I have stored in the system and send it out to all the alums. I can update the questionnaire to see what things they like the most about the program so we know what to do in the future.”

Click here to view an alumni social event page created by Coach Hitchens using ARMS.

“It’s made my life much easier. I am just more productive and doing it all in less time.”

Iona Volleyball Head Coach Alan Edwards was always a great recruiter. That was never in question.

In his first three years at Iona, each of the teams Coach Edwards assembled made it to the MAAC Championship.

But Coach Edwards was still bothered by the amount of time he was wasting on trying to organize his recruiting information. Hours of logging contacts, mindless data-entry, sorting through an increasingly filled inbox for a recruit’s email from weeks ago, and staying on top of an expanding pile of loose papers was keeping Coach Edwards from focusing on work that would more directly improve his team.

So Coach Edwards, a self-described non-technical computer person, sought out a software solution that could help him save time and become more efficient. At the time, Coach Edwards initially connected with ARMS, he was skeptical that ARMS would be any different from the other options on the market. However, he quickly realized that ARMS had some really innovative features that set it apart from the competition.

“ARMS enables me to manage my lists in a much better way, said Coach Edwards. “It’s been huge; an unbelievably valuable tool.”

The efficiency and power of the ARMS recruiting software made Coach Edwards a believer of the ARMS advantage. Coach Edwards, who performs all his tasks as the sole coach of the program, has questioned how he was ever able to recruit before ARMS.
